Andrew wrangling the children so that I can get in a full meal. I think he may have even gotten to enjoy a few bites himself.

Sunday, March 27th, 2011Emma is a very eager and welcome helper in the kitchen. Although she makes a mean batch of challah french toast, this morning we opted for bagels. And chocolate cake. Because what Sunday morning meal doesn’t benefit from the addition of chocolate cake?
In this family, we do not make round bagels. We either makes snakes, or letters. Those round bagels represent the letter O. And the straight bagel is NOT a capital letter I, nor is it a lower case letter l. It is a snake. God help us all if you get it wrong.

Thursday, December 24th, 2009One of our stops in Ann Arbor was a boutique pet shop–as requested by Emma–to buy fancy dog bones for Mel. A friendly yellow lab named Jake showed us right to the good stuff, and Emma carefully selected two very fine bones indeed. She thought about feeding the bones to Grandpa, but then decided that Mel would probably appreciate the gift more.
