We’re about a month behind updating here. In late August/early September we spent a week in MIchigan, most of that time at the cottage. We had beautiful weather, a mix of warm sunny days perfect for swimming in Crystal Lake and some cooler days that were great for running on the dunes and building fires in the fireplace. Emma was in her element, running in the wide open spaces and splashing in the waves (not to mention eating ice cream many nights of the week). At one point she told us that she would like to live by a lake and did not want to go back to Philadelphia. Although we heartily agreed we did, eventually, return to the city of brotherly love where we are now firmly back in the routine of preschool (which Emma loves), a new big girl bed (which Emma also loves) and the distinctly painful lack of a beautiful, sandy-shored lake (cue sad trombone).
